Why is it some people can’t give peace a chance

Even though for mankind it will help us to enhance

And will side us as humanity to evolve more and advance

Into a higher organism of existence,

So tell me why those in power offer great resistance,

Surely we’ve all had our fill of violence and wars

Surely by now the silence and death that will always cause,

Is too much for any sane right minded human being to take on board

We live by the gun they say and die by the sword,

Well I oppose all weapons and all wars

And the hate, violence and deaths that wars cause,

Which is why I cry why not give peace a chance

So that as a species we can all finally become advanced.
