It’s not just the cat that curiosity kills

Fear spread through their bodies

Four young people in the night,

Two girls and two boys

They were in a state of fright,

Within a house they sought to search

It was derelict and so run down,

They saw no harm in creeping in

Just to have a wander and look around,

But they found something within there lurking

And their fear was now palpable and profound,

They feared every creak and movement

Every shadow and every sound,

There were cobwebs all around them

And spiders and rats they abound,

In one room there was a plague of flies

Making an incessant humming sound,

The floorboards rotten by the termites

Your foot could easily go through the wood,

Old furniture covered in dust were scattered here and there

They’d escape this place if they could,

But every room led to another

And no exit they could see or find,

And without any lights other than their meagre torch

They found themselves to be night blind,

Yet this presence seemed to stalk them

And their fear was just about too much to take,

Then in a room with two doors

They went their separate ways,

One boy and one girl divided up to find a way out,

Then one couple heard a scream from the other

And the sound of them run and shout,

Panicking they ran through different rooms

Until finally finding the front door,

They ran to it and they flung it open

And could not believe what they saw,

A church grave yard with gnarly trees

And their friends hanging from two of these,

Gutted and bleeding out yet they could still plea

Despite just how much they did bleed,

Suddenly the two who were not hung

Felt themselves rising off their feet,

In moments they found they were also hanging too

Gutted and hanging from other trees,

And a little girl and boy appeared

And said you’ve all been very silly,

Entering the house of evil, murderous deeds

And now they were next for killing,

But not without a great deal of suffering

And the children’s eyes bled and turned to black,

Then fangs appeared and claws for hands

Then in a heartbeat they attacked,

Nobody heard the four Young’s peoples screams

And their loss was a mystery to their community,

Put down as runaways and missing persons

Let me tell you one important thing,

Keep in check your need to know things and hold back your curiosity

It not only kills the cats but will just as easily,

Be the death of you and me.
