Imposed isolation

Forced together

In isolation,

We were ready to explode

All of our tolerance and patience,

Started to dissolve

Staring at one another

Losing our resolve,

As we were watching each other break

Tensions were growing higher

Love was wearing thin,

We could feel the walls

As they were closing in,

Suffocating from a slow form

Of disorder, where we were detonating,

Choking on the confinement

Screaming silently,

It was always going to end bad

It was always going to end violently,

Unless released and set free

But when was that time going to come,

We talked to each other stupid

We finally talked each other dumb,

And now in all the emotions

Of being caged like an animal,

We were ready to break out

By smashing down the walls,

Of the home that had become our cell

It was domesticated hell,

Would we both survive?

It would be a miracle

That we both got out alive.

  1. Sounds like many of us and our experiences when going through the lockdowns.
