Gaslighting by the media

Making outrageous claims,

About so called woke ways

Adopted by others who like lemmings

Follow the media trail,

To justify their indignation

Of what is occurring in society today,

It’s hard to take this seriously

In a world of ever changing ways,

It’s how we progressed from past days

When racist, misogynistic jokes were all the rage,

How else will we ever truly evolve

If not to raise the standard and the bar

If we don’t we won’t get very far,

From the ignorance of when I was young

We must lift ourselves up and move forward

Or stagnate and become dinosaurs in a modern age,

Harping back to good old days

Where we were happy to simply display,

Ourselves in offensive ignorant ways

Blocking out all opportunities for us to change.
