Like an albatross, climate change hangs around our necks
Is it any wonder we struggle to know what will happen next,
We’re melting polar ice caps and cutting down rainforest, while polluting the sea
In a wave of mico plastics, and sewage that spreads disease,
We are poisoning our air with pesticides that affect how we breathe
Destroying animal habitats and exterminating so many other species,
And if we carry on this way then trust me, it is my belief,
That we will go beyond the point where there’ll be no hope for future generations that I can see,
And I don’t think we have that right to take away their futures
Is this a sign of how narcissistic humans have become,
That we don’t care about our children and their children through what we’ve done
When they see us do they view us as holding in our hands a fucking gun,
Ready to shoot them in the head because despite seeing what will come,
We simply don’t care enough, because on the topic of empathy humanity seems to have none.
