The trials and tribulations of life

I wonder sometimes who controls the lights,

One moment the future seems bright

Next moment it’s all as dark as night,

But we carry on regardless doing what we can

Trying in our own way to try and understand,

What has happened in the past on what’s up next

Then we soon realise we can only do our best,

To struggle on through, though things may not make sense

And to try and affect change can seems to immense,

So we do what we can to simply survive

And try to create happy times for ourselves,

Because in the end all you can do is smile

Have a laugh when you can and show some guile,

Finding some way to stand up strong

After all in the scheme of things life is not that long,

So we can only make the best of it however we can

So we should show solidarity with our fellow humans,

After all we are all going through the same

And let’s be fair, it’s enough to drive you insane,

However this is what we know as life.
