It’s a fight against your inner demons

Do you get confused as to what is real

Are you haunted by the ghosts of your past,

Do you live like you’re inferior, troubled with self doubt

If so ask how these feelings, thoughts and actions benefit you,

The truth is they don’t, they are like a plague

Eating away at your confidence and your self worth,

Driving you downward into anxiety, stress and depression

And somehow, someway you have to get out of this rut,

Easier said than done I know but you have to learn to lay the ghost to rest

To learn to forgive oneself is a cherished gift,

To understand that you are worthy and as equal as everyone else

But it’s a fight, a fight with those inner demons,

That wants nothing less than yourself destruction

The bravest people I know are not those who fight wars in foreign lands,

But those who fight their way of this rut and live life by their own commands.
