Break my skin and see what is revealed

The most vulnerable piece of me,

The pain that exists that repeals

The consciousness that darkness tries to steal,

When the light dims and then all is revealed

Can you still love me in spite of this,

But then I feel the ice set within

Despite my heart and how it’s beating,

But the warm vanishes from my life

And though I know that I have to fight,

To keep you loving me now in spite of this,

And I wait for you to find me and kiss

Me with passion and love flowing through your lips,

Reinvigorating me and raising me up

So that I feel I am standing on a mountain top,

With you with me by my side, we are alive

And knowing that we cannot hide,

The love we hold within in spite of all

The darkness that always calls,

But we live life better in the light

Our love is our greatest form of might.
