An inconvenient truth

What is it you tried to say

Why did others get in the way,

Maybe they were afraid of being held to blame

Time and again it’s all the same,

They find it easy to take control

And gag you and leave you in the cold,

But when their plans start falling

Then they are quick enough

To put you back out there, the usual stuff,

And let you take the consequences

Because they have no defences,

That won’t leave them looking exposed

That shows up their ignorance,

They seized your power having no substance,

About what you know from experience

And this is what happens when they try and shut you down,

Instead of showing the faith in you

But for them, this is an inconvenient truth.

  1. I’d love to read a sibling poem that reveals the backstory this one hints at.
