I feel the breath in my lungs

As my heart beats faster,

I sense the wind kiss my skin

As, from my lips, burst laughter,

From the knowledge I exist

And knowing I can’t resist,

The sensation of gratitude

Because I realise I am no fool,

By understanding the miracle of this

Yet acknowledging the twist,

That there are those who

Given half a chance would kill me,

But that chance I won’t give them

For I am celebrating the joy of living,

And as I do I share love, light and peace

And everywhere I see beauty in reach,

And knowing I, as human, am unique

I continue the adventure that I seek,

To live long and full whilst being wild

Wild and free and not so beguiled,

By others who may try to douse my light

Bring it on baby, it’s my delight,

But understand it’s my justified right

To walk away from you rather than fight,

But not because I am a coward

But because my intelligence makes me far too bright,

Due to this it increases within me my might.
