Pronouns

I am not a number we used to scream

Now we use pronouns to define us

Is this some kind of bad kind of dream,

We may as well go back to being numbered

Boxed and labelled and all neatly packaged,

Pronouns once used as a form of defiance and rebellion

Has now become a way of division and sub division,

That fractures humanity and mankind

Rather than uniting it and bringing it together,

These fractures, divisions and sub divisions

Make those who rule, exploit and oppress easier to do,

Why can’t we just accept that we are all individuals

All humans, all unique, all different without labels needed,

What anybody is beyond their name is their business not mine

They don’t need acceptance from me or judgement,

Neither do I need it from them or anybody else

The only pronoun we need is I am me, a human being,

Everything else is private to me until I choose to share it,

I don’t need the attention to be publicising myself beyond human

As long as we all show each other tolerance, respect and kindness,

Then the need for pronouns as they’re used today are unnecessary

Break free from the cages, cells, prisons and boxes you are building for yourselves,

And live life as your own person, your own authority,

Live life free outside of groups, cliques, classes, faith, colour or political allegiance,

Because you are the only you, so be what that is and do it freely.

  1. Shalom 🙌 I understand that what we call tags #, that new word, as you state, pronounced PRONOUNS, is extraordinary 🤔 Do you know what countries have pronouns? Once, it Hey there! Can you remind me what the text below means? It’s been bugging me all day! The text is “s either m”. Any idea what it could be? Me, him, or her; what next? Shalom, I learned something tonight. I am most humble 😌
