Existence requires an observer

Does anything exist beyond our observations, are falling trees heard in forests when there is nothing to hear it, the wave of energy may occur but it’s the ear, the mind that converts it into sound, that is unique to the observer. Does anybody or anything only exist when we see it? Or is it merely an illusion of our mind that spares us the despair of knowing we are nothing more than energy having a human experience through conscious frequencies that travel in an unknown void that we call, describe and believe is the universe.
