Fighting for equality

In a world where many disagree

Where people don’t want to share

As long as they do ok, why care?

So you bang your head against a wall

And where your defiance is so small,

Maybe then you should review

The talents that you offer

That over time you grew,

And take them to another place

That they are more respected

Where being treated is more expected,,

Just because some take you for granted

Doesn’t mean everybody will be the same

Hawk and tout your skills that you offer

This is only my advice that I proffer,

But if people don’t see the value in you

Go find other people who are likely too,

Why battle on, in a war you cannot win

Find a new place and people and begin again,

It’s not a case of losing or giving in

But actually being in a place where others are appreciating who you are,

And just what you have to offer from the start,

And so treat you more equally in a way that is fair

So that finally you realise there are those that do care.
