MLK said he had a dream
I wondered if he was alive today,
What he now would think
A catastrophic world of mess,
And catastrophic wars
And still the black person’s biggest threat,
Are those who should uphold the law
Where drugs are still a threat to all,
And the victims are in plain sight
And not enough people seem to car
About these lost people and their plight,
And while part of society is getting richer
Many are getting existentially poorer,
And politicians are playing games
At real people’s expense,
Both sides say they fight for all
But they’re I it for themselves,
These fat rich cats who squabble and argue
Have and always will be friends,
It’s all an act by the establishment
To keep everybody else from power,
And as real people suffer each day
They sip champagne in their ivory towers.
