Under the stars we realise

How insignificant we are,

And that we are not that powerful

When receiving such brilliant light from so afar,

But the unconditional love we share

Has a power to all of its own,

And at the moment it feels as if we are now at home,

Under the stars, feeling a part of the universe

Sharing some magic that is capable of hearing the hurts,

That comes from living in a hard and brutal world

Where caring seems to be out of fashion,

But here we stand in this moment

Filled with love, joy and passion,

Two lonely souls under the stars

Surrendering to each other in the quietude of night,

Our feelings resonate a light,

That sparkles off the nearby lake that ripples silently

As we send candles that we light upon a floating leaf,

And set it to sail, on a journey of the unknown

And hug and feel the love as it permeates,

Deep under our skin and into over very bones,

Under a starry sky and universe

Which at this very moment, feels like home.
