Misrepresented love

Love they say is transcending

But do they confuse it with lust,

A lust war hate and violence

And a constant conflation to divide us,

They tell us love for God and country

Is the supreme love that we can feel,

But it’s an age old delusion that’s not even real

Love gas no boundaries that what we’re told,

But class and castle gets in the way

Of those lies and illusions for that idea to be sold,

And gender if you believe it, defines all love

There are rules in place that make love seem tough,

Apparently only men and women can commune in this way

Try anything different and be damned for being gay,

That’s not how lovely works, it’s not twisted like that

Most of the time people deny true feelings and put on an act,

Just to confirm to all the social and and defined norms

Just to avoid some kind of backlash or storm,

But love has no rules or judgement or divides

Love is not what others think it’s what you feel inside.
