Schadenfreude

The wealthy who exploit the poor

Thrive on schadenfreude for sure,

Looking down on them from heights

Of a superiority of sadistic delight,

How they detest the talk of equality

To the point of spitting bile when they speak,

They don’t believe others are owed a thing

When many of them were born into wealth,

Much is not earned but inheririted

Through decades of their families,

Exploitation of poor people to feed their greed

Handed down over many centuries,

The schadenfreude philosophy is easy to see

Lauding it over those below them,

With big fast cars and their big mansions

Yet many below work so much harder,

Just to maintain the wealth of the few

Who takes the majority of the profits,

And offers merely the minimum wage in return

And pleas for more of the share are spurned,

By those who have it from those who don’t

And if you wait for this to change it won’t,

So it must be  demanded by all and just not by the few alone.
