I hate that I sense and see the awfulness of life

I could refuse to look and shut it out,

But I can’t because I feel and love life to much

And those who I share this life and journey with,

To do that would be to betray my feelings and humanity,

I choose to live life in it’s full reality without blinkers

Which is painful and it leaves its scars but each scar is an experience,

The pain teaches me lessons I need to learn from

And it teaches me the difference between right and wrong,

It helps me appreciate goodness and decency

As well as to feel gratitude that I feel love and kindness so deeply,

But that it also makes me realise what a blessing being spiritual is,

And why it’s important to stand up for the important things in life,

Not on anyone else’s terms or say so, but on my own beliefs and thoughts.
