Power corrupts
When you hold it over others,
But power over your own life
Means you won’t suffer,
At the hands of those who crave
Control over your life and wish to smother,
And hopes or dreams
That you may wish to create,
Because they don’t want you
Living in a free and independent state,
That is a state of your own authority.
