On the castle walls
Under the new dawn pall,
Stood a King surveying all
His enemy was ill sprawled,
But with every arrow
He saw so many die and fall,
Adhering to their own Kings call,
Mindless senseless slaughter
But to defend the castle
The archers gave no quarter,
Then opening the gates,
The Calvery changed out
With the Prince raising up a shout,
Sword pointing the way
He slashed and hacked away,
Against all odds they kept the enemy at bay,
Then heading back towards the gates,
They headed for safety to prepare
To charge the enemy once again,
Blood and death spread everywhere
Still the enemy pressed without a care,
Until the battlefield was just silent corpses
Piles of bodies, piles of horses,
The smell of rank blood filled the air
Flies buzzed almost everywhere,
There were many dead among the defenders to
And the castle King road out to offer a truce,
The enemies King accepted this
Yet in the sunlight’s warm and pleasant kiss,
In one fail swoop to off the enemies King head
And all his generals turned and fled,
No more, the defenders King thought
Would there be any more bloodshed of deaths,
And nightmares would be all that would be left.
