Poverty is a man made creation
It’s like a pandemic across all nations,
It’s not the fault of those who suffer in poverty
But governmental societal policies,
Deeply rooted within greed and inequality,
Where deprived areas suffer poor education and care
And an unwillingness for the bosses to share,
The huge profit margins from workers hard work
Many people who struggle don’t always shirk,
More food banks in the UK than Macdonald’s
Tells its own story about how hard things are now,
Zero hour contracts keep people living hand to mouth
It’s not just about if you live in the north or south,
Poverty knows nor cares about borders you see
Lack of education, nutritious food and opportunities,
Perpetuate the cycle that makes hard for you and me
And many top employers are discriminatory,
They only employ from private schools and believe
That you are not worthy without any kind of degree,
And the historical rhetoric of privilege still exists you see
The empire days were like a global disease,
It stripped resources from many countries
And brought over cheap labour from abroad into societies,
And put them in communities that became ghetto’s
Through a lack of investment and funding or help,
Soon after this decay spread throughout these zones
Leaving run down businesses, hospitals and homes,
And not enough is ever done to ever change this across nations
That’s why globally there’s mass crime and starvation,
And it seems to suit the rich and the ruling classes
So don’t believe that these people who are sitting on their arses,
Actually care or really want to change this at all
Poverty is a system of oppression and is political.
