In the forest there are sounds of the dawn chorus
Sounding off as if they are all part of nature’s rosta,
One by one they all sign off as if confirming they still exist
And I listen intently to their song, it’s hard to resist,
And the noises echo around me as if in an echo chamber
Doubling up as a warning alarm in cases of any danger,
But on this blissful morn and at the very moment of dawn
There is no cause or threat of harm to them except for the appearance of a young fawn,
Breaking cover to run wild and free through the forest home which is the norm
And I smile in true awe at nature’s wonder in the forest at the break of dawn.
