What happened? when did things change?

Or was I just blind? Has it always been the same?

We lost our ability to show compassion and love,

In a brutal world of fear and hate descending from above,

We seem to have decided which life we should choose

And if you are rooted in care and empathy, then you lose,

Depicted as a woke person, somehow seen as weak

We are embracing toxicity and discrimination in our society,

Which to me is unacceptable for everyone of us is the same

I refuse to participate in their dividing games,

Where some people are dehumanised and treated as if they do not count,

Does nobody learn anything, do we need another sermon on the mount,

To lay down to everybody what is the fucking truth

That everybody’s life is valuable even outside me and you,

When you see other people as an animal or a lesser being

There’s nothing true in that, it’s you my friend and what it is you’re seeing,

You’re seeing only darkness and you’ve strayed from the light,

Because the truth is that love, peace and compassion is the  source of all that’s right,

And your willingness to hate, inflict suffering and pain

Only leads me to one conclusion and that is you have lost it and gone insane.
