Illusions in life

So many grasp for what’s not important

Until one day they get struck down and realise,

That everything you can ever need is inside

And that having a wonderful family at your side,

Is worth so much more than the illusions to which some ascribe,

Yet to keep ourselves happy we tell ourselves lies

Then wonder why we are unhappy much of the time.
