The truth about migration

Migrants are blamed for society’s ills

But they are the cares giving the pills,

Helping the old, and those with mental and physical health issues

These are the jobs no one else wants to fill,

They bring culture and they bring colour

We offer division and we show them hate,

And nothing will change when the state pays

So little money to the people working in care today,

The government wants people to work on the cheap

Doing the jobs that are rewarding but many see as bleak,

Is really tough you see, with long hours and is challenging

And many find their finances are impoverishing,

Meanwhile the wealthy non tax paying non-doms

Live it up like they’re on an extended vacation,

They are the one using labour that is cheap

Like the billionaires who constantly seek,

To make greater profits while paying an unliveable wage

It’s so fucking obvious but where’s the outrage,

You want more local people doing the jobs

But until they pay better wages, improving conditions they won’t,

So who is going to fill the increasing care vacancies?

Will the vulnerable be left just to die in an uncaring society?

And where will the richness of multicultural life go

Will it be filled by the grey suited people who have no,

Talents or gifts for vivid imagination or creativity,

And just how far will we go back sending people back home,

Will there be barriers based on wealth? Or on health,

How far do we go, do we decide that it should be equally dealt,

And what will occur when we send back politicians and their wealthy friends

Because that’s only fair and equitable in the end,

Then the furore will finally begin to rise

They never expected it would happen to them, what a surprise,

But what society needs the non-taxpaying wealthy

Living off our labour and our blood, sweat and tears,

Yes you see if we use the rhetoric of hate, division and fear

You’ll find out in the end nobody will want to live here,

No health care, no support, a lack of culture that’s clear,

And in the end we’ll find ourselves in a country that lacks any cheer but sheds many tears.
