Today I lost it
On this day I seethed,
Insulted by those
Who refuse to see,
The worth of those
Who slog themselves,
To provide a service
For a pittance of pay,
Then told to do more
It angers me to the core,
To see those on less pay
Completely floored,
As they’re told simply
It’s not just about pay,
But it is when you’re poor
And when your wages are more,
Saying this makes others sore
Or they say if you’re not happy,
Leave and find something else
But why should they,
When they give so much
Of themselves to the job,
To say this I think is so odd
So that’s why I lost it,
That’s why I seethe
Because it truly offends me,
To see my people forced
By those above to bow down,
On their fucking knees
And that’s not right.
