I don’t write out of dictionaries

Or a thesaurus just to please,

I don’t claim to be gifted literally

I choose to write in words I speak,

In a hope it relates to those who read

My words of meaning and poetry,

Rather than dazzling academically

I prefer passion and the honesty,

What’s rooted within side of me

Not based on what you can find in dictionaries,

That’s too disconnected from the reality,

Of what I’d want or choose to be

Identified when people choose to read

What it is I have to say, which means more to me,

So I won’t try to be fake or engage in ways

Considered as fancy or flowery word play.
