It’s a war

Books today are struggling

Against the rise of the kindle,

We’re told it is more environmental

Then cutting down a forest of trees,

Yet take a look at the true facts

Those trees can be replanted,

Unlike lithium batteries

That can’t even be recycled,

And you can’t grow rare earth minerals

And you can’t regrow lithium,

And the transportation of paper

Is no worse than that of minerals,

And the processes do not differ as much

But the truth requires a more deft touch,

Because it’s actually more about greed

Then it is about minerals and trees,

You see they don’t care about ecology

They only care about profits you see,

They greenwash everything

In order to make their tills sing,

And they prefer you to be addicted to the screen

Then taking time to look and start questioning,

And it’s all about once again control

Not about books and kindles we are sold,

What they do is manipulate you to do as you’re told,

I am sorry my friends but this is a war and nothing more

Than for who owns our minds and our souls.
