Welcome to the times of greed over need

A time of buying gaily coloured items to appease your assorted greeds,

Welcome to the present times of draining all of earth’s resources,

Then wonder why there’s climate change and dried up river courses,

Welcome to the times of gluttony and averice

Where everybody’s dream is simply to get rich,

And they don’t care how they get there as the park their moral and ethic

Try telling them that this is not sustainable

And watch them go maniacal and apoplectic,

As they sell their culture, sell their values and try to somehow deflect it,

As something that’s beyond their control in a world that’s way too hectic.
