Missiles fall like rain

On to the people below,

Who never really know

Much about why on them,

They just try living life

The best that they can do,

Demonised by those

Who sent the missiles,

Without even knowing them,

Not everyone agrees

With their own government,

Yet they still have to suffer

While politicians say

‘well, that’s just war,’

As innocent people and kids

Die daily even more,

That callous belief that it’s ok

And words like ‘they’re bad people anyway,’

Which is lie but they say it

Because the truth is always,

The first casualty of any war,

And the people did not call for it,

It’s a territory, power and greed inspired war

And this is happening more and more,

And the innocent people pay the cost

How has humanity ended up so lost,

Because of maniacal, old despots,

Who don’t seem to want to die

But who gets off seeing people cry,

Staring at the rubble of a bombed school

And the bodies laying around,

As if children deserved to pay this price

For illegal wars fought without a cause,

Except to make leaders richer and more powerful,

We need to change and do away with these despot fuckwits once and for all.
