Everything of beauty and of worth

That grows or emerges on this earth,

Is exploited and ravaged by those of greed

That’s why they over fish seas and cut down trees,

It’s why the fight wars over rare earth minerals

And it is why  they see food now as a commodity,

This is what is wrong with how we live and our societies

Because capitalism is rooted simply only in greed,

And all things that are of value they take from you and me,

Or price us out of the market by exploiting that which is free,

And selling it back to us as necessity

And they’ll do this even if it deprived our own humanity.
