Natures colours

I dream dreams in different hues

multi colored pastels

green, gold and blues.

Autumn red, gold and brown

leaves fall from trees covering the ground,

in a patchwork quilt

hushing the sounds,

of footsteps that are trodden all around,

by deer and stags, badgers, and horses

all travelling along natures courses,

furrowed between the giant pines

within this forest from ancient times.

Then bursts of greens on ponds and lakes

and grassy knolls that cause a break

in the undergrowth here and there

dotted around with natures care.

Then looking up I see blue skies

the through green canopies white clouds sail by,

occasional burst of a golden sun

to take off the chill

that autumn has brung.

Soon giving way to a chiaroscuro hue

the forest then descends in gloom,

and I know now that it’s time to leave

i hear gently ruffling of twig and leaf

that give way beneath my feet,

I now feel my soul is replete.

With the wonders of nature

and it’s colourations,

I walk home to dwell and reside in the wonders of creation

and think myself lucky to witness such things as this

happy to breathe and just to exist.
