Step away from the edge

Apocalyptic warning sign

Visited upon us by design,

Look around at all you see

Of nature and the environmental plea

Frustrated by polluted seas.

A sky that is choked with chemical smog

Species each and every day being lost.

A land that is chocking on wires and plugs

Raping its resources out of greed and lust.

A lust for power and territorial land

Armies fight and make last stands,

But all around the environment has paid the cost

And the beauty of nature has been lost.

Stripped by napalm fire and bombs

To no trees left to stand among,

Just a barren and unfertile soil

It’s just the same with our race for oil

And other types of energy

We frack the land for money

We say it’s to enhance human kind

But we all know that’s a lie.

It is done to secure their wealth

For those not interested in this planets health

We destroy it like we have another home

Can you not see the seeds you have sown?

It will lead to our apocalyptic end believe me,

I know that change is never easy.

It’s sad to think we were given paradise

And destroyed it all with our ignorant vice.

But we can step back from this precipice yet

  1. Hi Fauxcroft, great poetry as always.

Can you have a look at my new epic poem and give me your opinion?
