Save Tibet

China is doing to Tibet

What Hitler did to the Jews,

Why does not one stop this

Are there different rules,

Never see report in the medai or news,

Ethnic and cultural cleansing of a nation

Should be huge.

Tearing down training centers for training monks,

Pulling down nuns houses is such an affront

And many dissappear to be tortured

For their views,

Never seen again and this still don’t make the new

Self immolation is used as a desperate plea,
Away of saying to the world see how the Chinese,

Blatantly infringe human rights

And commit crimes against humanity

See Tibet plight.

They are trying to eliminate the Buddhist ways

Committing so many wrongs with the games they play,

It’s time to make a stand like we did with the 3rd Reich,

It’s time to make a stand and do what’s right,

By Tibet and it’s people like we did for the Jews,

Because we surely should be playing

By the same rules.

It’s far more complex than that. For a start, the Tibetan border doesn’t include a large section of the Tibetan community living outside of that. The Chinese government does do the things you’ve mentioned – by they’ve also invested millions into construction temples and monasteries, and tourism infrastructure, because they know they need to keep the peace somewhat, and are aware of the backlash. The traditional nomadic lifestyle is one of poverty, not contributing to GDP, and the Chinese government is likes to keep a pro-development outlook that doesn’t fit well with Tibetan traditions.
And it does get reported on, you just need to look further past the headlines. But then, few minorities of China ever make the headlines. Tibet gets far more media coverage than peoples such as the Hui, or the Uyghurs. In some ways, Tibetans are lucky to have such a public and worldwide famous advocate as the Dalai Lama. Others are not so fortunate.

    1. China is investing and developing Tibet for the ever increasing population it has and is encouraging and flooding Tibet with Hands Chinese. I don’t see how Tibet is lucky in anyway while being ethnically and culturally cleansed off the face of the planet I am afraid. How you can accept this happens and nonchalantly move on to talk about investment is scary. It’s like that makes up for torture and murder. Finally Tibet answer self immolate as a desperate attempt to get their plight heard. Yes the Dalai Lama who by the way is in exile because he too would have disappeared does help raise awareness too. Oh also the Jews were seen as nomadic too so maybe what Hitler did too them was justified in your mind too. He also would and did invest in the German people in an attempt to wipe out a race. It was not acceptable for him then. It is not acceptable for China now. China gave Mongolia independence and it has done OK. Only China’s fear of Buddhism stops it from granting Tibet independence too and the need for more territory for its population.

I’m just pointing out it’s not just so one-sided as you paint it. And that Tibet is not really a territory, because their are Tibetans who live inside “mainland China” that face potentially worse discrimination than those inside Tibet, because the world has forgotten about them. The world knows about Tibet – and therefore the government has caved and now is forced to invest millions into some aspects of the community. That is proof of change, and the power that protests have already had. Not at all negating attrocities that have happened, but you do need to recognise it’s not entirely black and white.

      2. Chinese people are awesome people just a shame they have had to go through a much corruption and persecution by their own government. I am lost as to why the Chinese governments in succession have been often so extreme against its own and other people. Now it is booming as a superpower investing everywhere it can, Europe, USA, Africa. But it could soon end in a massive bust as is what happens with booms. Sadly the people will yet again pay the price for their failings. If Tibetans choose to live in China then that’s fine but Tibet as a country separate from China does exist. The same way as a lot of countries in USSR and the Yugoslavia. All now have their sovereignty.

  3. Fauxcroft is right, Tibet is not china, they have taken what Tibet has not given. We must be the difference that we wish to see, it all begins with us dear friends. We must do what our governments are to powerless and scared to do. Here and now, we begin the change.

  5. It’s all about the perceived need for countries to get along. Nobody actually put a stop to Hitler because of the Holocaust; it was when Germany invaded Poland and Belgium and other countries acted. China is a nation that the other nations want to have ‘on their side.’

As Tibet is technically part of China, the US and UK will not get involved. If China were to do the same in Nepal, however, that would be something other nations would act over.

The reason that the US and UK went to was in Iraq was because there were no real trade links or political ties worth maintaining.

    1. Agreed but Tibet is only a part of China through oppression. I take your points though. However this can not be allowed to continue unabated because we fear losing trade links or fear Chinese power.
