Flawed teachings

Taught how act

About white and black,

Conditioned from birth

About how to retract,

Any degree of decency

Of how to treat others we see,

Different from us

In any way,

Same applies to transgender and gay,

Like it’s OK to slight them,

Treat them like

They are less than human.

They say with venom instilled in their mind,

If your religious belief is different from mine,

It must be them out of line.

We are not born this way I am sure

It’s the upbringing that these people endured,

That turned them into hateful beasts,

Caught up in this self defeat with no hope of release.

So they live a life, callous and blind,

To any kindness

Or alternative thoughts of mind,

Caught up in darkness

They’re in a trap,

With very little hope of turning back.

Hateful and wicked

Violent of mind

Distrust those who are different,

They never hide,

The aggressiveness and ignorance

They revel in this,

Act it out with pride

Sexist, racist, it doesn’t get no worse than this.

But we have to forgive them

And help them see the light,

Even though I think it’s an unwinnable fight.

No, sorry I don’t forgive them. If they wanted to see the light they would open their eyes. They choose not to.

    1. But unless we help them to turn it around nothing will ever change.
