Ask me if I have ever felt pain

I shall show you my scars,

I wear them in defiance

Of life and those who inflicted them

And those who wish to add some more.

The scars I wear I wear with pride,

For not being willing to compromise 

My dignity, my values or my beliefs to those,

Who wanted to oppress me and take control of my life.

I am no for sale,

So don’t try and buy me,

For refusal offence offends.
