The measure of a man

Is how compassionate he can be,

How he can foster love

And spread a little peace,

How he can care for his environment 

And all other species

And reject all divisions

And turn his back on material greed.

The measure of a man 

Rejects racial and gender divides,

And also understands himself inside

And is never afraid to cry,

The measure of a man

Cannot be judged,

By anybody else but creation up above.

      I can only speak as a man. To think I know the measure of a woman would be patronising and wrong.

        Hadn’t realised you were a man, like the sentiments expressed but would prefer it were not gender specific. Maybe humankind, people or humans?
