Friday afternoon
My week is done,
And so am I as well.
Limbs ache,
I can hardly keep awake,
I am in a knacked state.
Pressure of work
Makes my head pound,
The physicality has taken its toll.
Now the weekend is here
It gives me some room for cheer,
A chance to rest, to ease my bones,
To recuperate within my home,
To ease the pounding in my head
To give my aching muscles a rest,
Before a new week of fresh
Challenges and tests.
I will be asleep tonight
Before my head hits the pillow,
I will sleep so deep,
Like the sleep of the dead,
As my knackered body yearn for my bed.
