You hide your eyes
You shield them from truth,
Fearful we may see all we do
Like act unkindly and act as brutes,
See only greed as appealing to you.
You cover our mouth
To hide your words,
For saying things cruel and that hurt,
Spreading half truths, gossip and hate
This sums up mostly what you say.
You cover your ears,
So you can’t hear the truth,
Of words spoken to you
That explain how vile
Your words can be,
Because you pay no attention
To the way that you speak.
