Should we recognise colour?

well of course we should

but in a way that is respectful

and clearly understood,

that everyone of colour has the same rights

and that they every bit as human

and shine equal amounts of light.

Nobody is lesser in the world in which we live,

diversity is wonderful and a part of great teachings,

discrimination from any one of any colour is just so ignorant,

after all biologically colour is just a pigment.

Yet actually it is far more than this, in all truth,

it’s something that is spiritual and also cultural

and to learn to embrace the whole of this, makes us all more powerful,

enriches all our understandings and breeds tolerance towards all,

we can’t say we do not see colour because that would be a lie,

but respecting it is something that will make us all so wise.
