Cringing at my life

I cringe every time I post my thoughts,

I cringe everytime i read them back,

My self effacing nature and lack of self belief,

Simply haunts me through my lack of literacy,

For I know I am not the smartest human being,

Failed at most things which makes me cringe 

And still sadly amounting to absolutely nothing

And as I review my life over I think of the good things
And think of my children

But that’s it,

The rest just makes my cringe,

For all the time I have spent wasting.

    Poetry is often as such: each word is a step on the stairs of self-effacement. When the poem is done, we have reached the last one…and we are at the place we sought to go. There’s freedom there. And meaning. Peace, perhaps. But absolutely nothing is wasted, my friend. Write on.
