There was a time

When we were alive,

Two hearts  beating

We shone so bright

But now that light has been reduced,

Now our love has been seduced,

By the shadows of night.

We were young,

We were so in love

And we believed,

Our love would last forever and ever on

But as we got older,

Something got in the way

And now we are like stranger so estranged, 

Like we had never known passion,

As if we had never known,

Love in that deep sensual way.

There was a time

When we were alive,

Two hearts beating

We shone so bright,

Why did it have to dissipate this way,

Why did it need to fade to grey

And all I can say,

Is I miss you like you could never know,

I yearn for you in a  way I can never show again,

Now our love has gone away

And it all feels so wrong.
