Wall builder

I build a wall

Around me,

So nobody

Can hurt me,

I built a wall

So I am not harmed,

I am not taking

Any chance.

I built a wall

To protect my heart,

To stop it from being broken.

I built a wall

And Imprisoned me,

Locked myself in a cell

Of ‘don’t touch me’,

And used the wall

To keep love out,

Because I have learnt to doubt,

The love of others,

And their integrity

I built a wall

Now I am not free.
