A cacophony of voices screaming

pleading for release,

so many vociferous chants

demanding a lot more peace

but through all this noise and mayhem

nothing is ever heard,

by those in their ivory towers

who view us all as quite absurd,

to think we have a say in things

they believe this to be deluded,

for they are the ones that make the rules

and we are the ones that feel the pain,

that’s the way it’s always been

so we should not get above our station

and expect this violence to carry on,

with death and suffering between the warring nations.

Yet if we stand strong and refuse to fight,

their wars without a cause,

then maybe we can turn it around

by fighting war not wars!
