Living for the weekend

It’s dark outside as I wend my weary way home,

From another week of work and toil,

It’s Friday now and that’s enough for me

On the train I seem to always fall asleep,

Tired in my body, my mind and my soul,

I just can’t wait until I get back home

I feel that I could sleep a hundred lifetimes,

Before I could feel refreshed and ready for another week,

That is inevitably ahead.

Living for the weekend

That’s all I do at best,

Living for the weekend

And now it’s time to rest,

Living for the weekend,

My mind, body and my soul,

I need to sleep now,

I really need my bed

Like I’ve never needed it before.
