Could she had loved him anymore

Could she have let him into her heart more than she did

Could she have tried to settle for less control

Yes she could but the pain that she feels now

Could have been so much worse

And that’s why she was guarded

And which is why she will be scarred afterwards

Because she had been hurt once before

And has been hurt once again

And so now she will ensure

It doesn’t happen again

So she will not give her heart now so as to avoid pain

This is sad because it’s tough not ever feeling the full force of love again.
