I am not what you think I am

You look at me

So small and meek

And you think and believe

That you can control me

You think I will be grateful

For all that you do

Through your oppressive rules.

Well I believe in existentialism

I believe we create our own prisons

When we accept domestication by you

I choose to live by my own rules

And I don’t fear you or your might

I will be responsible for my own life

And I will take accountability

For the decisions I make even if I make mistakes

Because it’s my life

And I am the only one than can live it

I am the only one that can dream it

I am the only one who can create it

I am the only unique me

And it’s the only chance I have of being free

So don’t ever believe you can control me

And never believe that you can own me

Because I am the only one that can be me

And achieve what I need to achieve

And that’s what makes me unique.
