Why are we made to think we should settle for less,

What makes them think they can treat us as second best,

These people with the money and the power,

They use their influence to exert their strength,

By oppressing us makes our life so dour.

We do not need them to force feed us with their propaganda,

We can find the facts out and think for ourselves,

Because we’re smarter than they give us credit for,

Just because we’re downtrodden and poor,

It doesn’t mean we’ve got no intelligence,

Doesn’t mean that we’re not worth investing in,

Doesn’t mean we’re not worth believing in,

Yet we settle for less and accept your wages of sin

That are worth a lot less that the sweat we put in.
