No glimmer of hope

BBC News: The Story of the Syrian Conflict. Pro-democracy protests erupted in March 2011 in the southern city of Deraa after the arrest and torture of some teenagers who painted revolutionary slogans on a school wall. After security forces opened fire on demonstrators, killing several, more took to the streets.

There appears no glimmer of hope

No glimmer of love or peace

that will anytime soon see

the end to all the atrocities

carried out on Syria in the Middle East

people homes flattened

chemical poisons

ever body fighting political transactions

each pointing fingers at who’s wrong and who’s right

I can only think of the poor innocent lives and their awful plight

and as the political drama is played out on our screens

I see the blood and the dead bodies

and the desperate haunted looks on the faces

of the Syrian people caught in between

this is the worst atrocities against humanity

that I have seen in my lifetime

and all sides are culpable and guilty of war crimes

and an end should be brought about now

we need a public outcry,

only the power of the people can stop this

only acts of humanity can bring a halt

to this awful pointless war

can anyone remember what and why it started after all.

  1. It’s about religion and power…it’s all about the ego trying to break our spirit.
