Too many distractions today
Too many things get in the way
Of kids trying to learn about life
Being bombarded all the time
With lies by advertisers
Promising lifestyles beyond their dreams
Bombarded by social media
And memes about being a successful being
Needing a perfect look and a perfect body it seems
No wonder they feel under pressure
No wonder they end up confused
It doesn’t take a genius to
See what they have to get through
A life of distraction
A life of bullshit and falsehoods
I pity being young today
Because its hard for young minds to discover the truth
Hard for young minds to stay focused
Hard for young minds
Not to get things twisted and confused.
